I'm back! My new job has been eating up so much of my time, I feel bad for not posting so much. So there's a new Indie brand on the market, Braves Diva Polish. A little bit ago, Tara (owner and creator) posted on IG that she had a few Swatch Kits available in her shop. Basically meaning that the kits are "intended for serious swatchers, or people who are looking for that true "swatching experience"." Anyone who is active on Instagram and those who will share their swatch/mani pictures on social media.- Taken directly from Tara's site. There are 2 full size polishes in the kit and range from either a current or future collections. I received one from her current collection, and one from a future collection coming out in a few days! The kit was $15 which I think is a great deal. If you're looking to start swatching, or try out her brand, this is a great way to do it. I'm definitely in the market to get my name out there for swatching.
Chicks Dig The Long Ball
First up, is Chicks Dig The Long Ball, a gorgeous deep bright navy blue creme.
Whoops! Excuse my finger prints and smudges on the bottle. I ALWAYS forget to wipe it down. I need to get better about that. Any way, like I said, this is a gorgeous navy creme that was opaque for me in 1 coat!! It was super smooth and opaque. If you mess around too much with the polish or use too much pressure, you could need 2 coats, but in general, this baby is a one coater!
Isn't that such a stunning shade?? Wendy, @stuckonlacquer on Instagram swatched this collection with Chicks Dig The Long Ball and they marbled beautifully. I was curious how well this would stamp...
...and what do you know! This stamps beautifully! So well that a doggie hair wanted to tag along haha.
Switch Hitter
Here is Switch Hitter, this nude crelly glitter BOMB that releases September 30th! Shh get excited!
Here is my swatch of Switch Hitter. This was opaque in 2 coats. I love the nude color, but because it is a glitter bomb, it can be a little more challenging to apply. There was some manipulation and dabbing involved. I wouldn't go more than 2 coats as I think it would be way too thick. I suggest doing a thinner first coat, just enough to cover the nail and then do a bit of a thicker second coat and dab in areas that need extra coverage.
I love how there is some extra sparkle and shimmer running thru the nude base as well.
I can't wait to see what else is coming from Tara, I'm already in love with what she has sent me. Again, I highly suggest trying out her swatch kits if you're interested in swatching and her brand. Thanks for stopping by, happy polishing and I'll see ya in my next post! (Hopefully sooner rather than later!)
